Redecorating a room used to mean daunting choices, but not any more. For a bedroom, a rustic theme drew me to consider wrought iron products for new window treatments. Wrought iron home décor decision down, what next? I found a huge selection of ornamental iron products, including iron curtain rods and curtain accessories to satisfy my curiosity. The item that dominated my imagination was the iron curtain shelf bracket. As a woodworker and traveler with the US military, this offered me a vision of display of cultural or wood items I wanted to show off. Plus, iron curtain rods matched with other iron curtain accessories easily filled this home decorating void.
Many Americans dont know the true difference between "antique" and "vintage" home accessories and decor. Whether its furniture, wall art or a random knick-knack, not all home accessories can be classified as an "antique," even if it at an antique store, nor is everything vintage, or even retro, for that matter. Heres the low down on the differences between "antique," "vintage," "retro," or "collectible" home decor. Any item that is a minimum of 100 years of age is considered an "antique." This applies to furniture, clothing, home accessories, paintings, old farm equipment-you name it. If it at least 100 (but no, you great great aunt does not count,) then it an antique.
The evolution of drink coasters has been a fast and steady one due to the new printing technologies available and invention of new materials. There is no doubt today that if you go to pick out a set of coasters you will be met with such a wide variety of decisions to make from what kind of material do you need to the images and even weight that you would like. Just a few years back, you would only be able to buy the coasters that your local store clerk would show you on their shelves. This would be such a minute inventory that it would take you less than an hour to go through everything that the best of them would have to offer.
Horsehair is a less than common idea that tends to be a little harder to find and most people today opt for faux horsehair. It is smooth and silky, the perfect choice for furniture or rugs in the living room or media room especially. It can be a little more on the costly side than a lot of other options, and it takes some special care to keep it looking great, but it is worth it if you want the perfect horse touch in any space. To find horsehair decor, it is usually easiest to use online resources unless you know a place that sells this type of accent. Artwork is the most common representation of the horse in our homes, from beautiful and stylish framed prints to busts, statues, miniatures, figures, and horses of all sizes and shapes. They can be incorporated into almost any decor style, even the most elegant styles, with the right artistic medium. For instance, a heavy bronze horse statue makes a perfect table or mantel centerpiece, while prints of painted ponies in matching white frames are very cute for a little girls bedroom. Another example would be matching classy bookends on a wood-finish bookcase or mantel, made from clay, silver, bronze, wrought iron, or even wood, depending on the rest of the rooms decor.
